Peixe do Mondego

O objetivo do selo de origem é adicionar valor e diferenciar no mercado as espécies selecionadas. A aplicação do selo de origem também deve contribuir para a viabilidade económica do setor, uma vez que se espera que os consumidores estejam dispostos a pagar mais por produtos derivados de práticas sustentáveis. A longo prazo, espera-se que o consumo das espécies se concentre em exemplares que possuam o selo de origem, não apenas por exigências legais, mas também pela demanda dos consumidores.

Proveniência: Lota da Figueira da Foz.

Tipo de Pesca: Pesca artesanal com redes de emalhar, feita por embarcações de pequenas dimensões no estuário do rio Mondego.

Mondego fish

The aim of the seal of origin is to promote and add value to the selected species on the market. The application of the seal of origin should also contribute to the economic viability of the sector, based on the expectation that consumers will be willing to pay more for products derived from sustainable practices. In the long term, it is hoped that consumption of the selected species will concentrate on the fish that have the seal of origin, not only because of legal requirements, but also because of consumer demand.

Type of fishing: Artisanal fishing with gillnets, carried out by small boats in the Mondego estuary.
